Trauma Therapy
Healing the Hijacked System
Trauma isn't just a memory of the past; it’s a physical reality that resides in your body today. If you often feel on edge, easily overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself, your nervous system is probably stuck in a survival mode.
The Paradox of Integration
In my practice, we move beyond just "talking about"the trauma. We explore somatic (body-centered) techniques to help the nervous system safely transform or release what it has been holding onto and protecting.
Trauma processing is about slowly and safely uncovering the things we have buried in order to let them breathe. It is a paradox: we are giving life back to the parts of us we instinctually want to push away or hide from.
By turning toward these buried pockets in a gentle, titrated way, we begin to integrate the pieces of your experience that have been cast out. This isn't about reliving the pain; it's about bringing back the parts of yourself you’ve had to leave behind, allowing your system to finally realise that the danger has passed.
